The PWHL and NHL have announced that there will be a PWHL 3-on-3 showcase during the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend in Toronto.

Ontario is home to two of the PWHL's founding franchises (PWHL Toronto and PWHL Ottawa) so there will definitely be plenty of hometown favorites and heroes on the ice for a showcase of speed and skill.

In the official press release, PWHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations Jayna Hefford shared, “We can’t wait to showcase our new league and our incredible athletes on NHL All-Star Thursday,” said Jayna Hefford, PWHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations. “We’re delighted to be collaborating with the NHL, and we appreciate the opportunity to grow the game through the All-Star platform."

2019 marked the first year women's hockey players were invited to NHL All-Star Weekend. Since then, a handful of both Canada and USA National Team players have made appearances.

PWHL Minnesota's Kendall Coyne Schofield famously beat Connor McDavid in the fastest-skater event back in 2019.

Just last year, Sara Nurse let everyone know she is that girl when she scored on New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shersterkin.

Every year leaves hockey fans with something to talk about. The 3v3 showcase will be no different. Players will be announced at a later date.

The event will take place on Thursday, February 1 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. It will be televised on ESPN+ and Sportsnet.
