PWHL Ottawa signed forward Sammy Davis to a one-year contract on Tuesday, according to a PWHL press release. The move followed Ottawa forward Kristin Della Rovere’s placement on long-term injured reserve. Della Rovere had one goal in nine games for Ottawa. She centred Ottawa’s fourth line most nights.

Massachusetts native Davis has played her entire career in the Bay State. She played four seasons in the NCAA at Boston University and three seasons in the PHF with the Boston Pride. She was the team’s first-round pick in the 2020 PHF draft and won two Isobel cups with the Boston team.

In college, Davis captained the Boston University team for two years. Across those two seasons, she was well above a point a game, according to Elite Prospects.

Davis was a camp invite of PWHL Boston but was cut in the second round of player releases. Davis spent the first half of the season as a reserve player in Boston until her signing today.

PWHL Ottawa is currently in Minnesota for the first game in a four-game road trip. They’re scheduled to make a visit to Boston on March 16.
