How to Watch: Oct. 19 - 20

A full weekend as the third Dream Gap tour stop kicks off

With the third stop of the PWHPA’s Dream Gap tour this weekend, its another full two days of women’s professional hockey!

Details released for Chicago stop of PWHPA’s Dream Gap Tour

Sat. Oct. 19

NWHL: Connecticut Whale at Buffalo Beauts 11:30 a.m. eastern

The Whale are looking for revenge in this rematch from week one of the season when the Beauts beat them 3-1 in the final three minutes of the game. The Whale are coming off a weekend off, where as the Beauts dropped two to the Pride last weekend in Boston. Last time, they had 30 shots but only put one behind Beauts goaltender Mariah Fujimagari.  Will the extra rest help the Whale? Will the Beauts ride the excitement of their home opener to their second win?

PWHPA: Hefford v Dupuis 4 p.m. central

The PWHPA is touting this weekend as an All Star line up and USA v the World. The first day; however, is World v World (or Canada v Canada + Noora Raty). This will be a crazy fun game to watch, especially since Team Dupuis goaltenders Geneviève Lacasse and Emerance Maschmayer will be facing off against players that thus far had been their teammates (Marie-Philip Poulin, Mélodie Daoust, Ann-Sophie Bettez).

NWHL: Minnesota Whitecaps at Boston Pride 6:30 p.m. eastern
Twitch 2

This is the first matchup for these two teams this season, and wow should it be interesting. Last weekend, the Whitecaps easily beat the Riveters before being “upset” in the second game, something few expected. On the other hand, the Pride swept the Beauts last weekend and come into the game as the only undefeated team in the league.

Honestly, its a bit of a toss up. The Pride have the momentum and the home ice advantage, but the Whitecaps are going to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder after last weekend.

PWHPA: Granato v Ruggiero 7 p.m. central

The second Dream Gap game is USA v USA so if you’ve ever wanted to see Hilary Knight face off against Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, Monique Lamoureux-Morando, and Kendall Coyne Schofield here’s your chance! It will be a fun, fast, exciting game.
