Hockey East releases 2020-21 schedule
Each school will play 18 games.
With nine days until puck drop, Hockey East released their full 2020-21 season schedule. They announced their start date - Nov. 20 - last week in a hype video.
Each school will play the other nine conference schools twice for a total of 18 games. A large majority of the schedule is home-and-home series and day-of-game travel. The noted exceptions are Maine and Vermont, which will see two games at the same location each weekend due to their distance from the rest of the conference.

In addition, Hockey East scheduled “Flex Weekends” to allow for any make-up games that need to happen and to keep a balanced schedule for the teams.
The regular season is set to end on Feb. 27, and they do plan to have a postseason tournament, with details coming later.
The individual schools will determine if fans will be allowed, and for the large majority, it seems like no crowds will be in attendance for the time being. Boston University already announced they will not allow fans at any point this season. Meanwhile, UConn said they will initially limit attendance to family only.
Hockey East also announced that games will be broadcast on NESN, NESN+, and streamed on ViacomCBS Digital. The streamed games on ViacomCBS Digital will be free on “one of ViacomCBS Digital’s platforms,” according to the release. The NESN schedule is only announced through Jan. 1 and features only six women’s games (as compared to the 22 men’s games on their schedule). Boston University, UConn, and UVM fans will have to wait for 2021 to see their teams in action on NESN as they do not have a game in the first batch.
The WCHA will also start on Nov. 20 with the first month of their schedule announced thus far. The CHA seemed close to announcing their schedule - RMU released theirs independently - until RIT announced they would not field a hockey team this season. The ECAC has been largely quiet, except for Clarkson and Quinnipiac scheduling a four-game, non-conference series for the end of November and beginning of December. NEWHA has also been silent.
