After a strong first season in Minnesota, including a miracle run to the Isobel Cup, Whitecaps captain Sydney Brodt is back for more, as the team announced Tuesday that they had re-signed her to a two-year deal.

Brodt was more of a depth scorer for the Whitecaps, with a nine-point effort over 18 games played (5G, 4A). She was strong in the faceoff circle, with a .523 overall result (58-53), and her leadership skills earned her the "C" in her first season with the team. She also landed a nod for the All-Star Showcase in January as part of the PHF's USA squad.

Additional terms of the deal will not be disclosed.d

Brodt's signing, and the announcement of Patti Marshall shortly following, brings the overall number of players under contract to 18. Eight players, Brodt included, are signed through the 2024-25 season.
