Top Shelf Podcast Episode 13 - It’s Our Podcast and We’ll Cry If We Want To
We are Mad Online and we’re going to yell about it.
Hello and welcome to Top Shelf, where we keep the hot takes and the hard liquor!
This is a podcast where Michelle Jay and Hannah Bevis have a couple drinks, get a little tipsy, and talk about the biggest stories in women’s hockey. We’ll be talking about a little bit of everything on this podcast from the NCAA to the NWHL and CWHL to U Sports and SDHL and AWIHL and whatever else comes up.
We’re on iTunes now too! You can find us under the Founding Four Podcast channel - currently we’re still sharing a Soundcloud account (but we do have our own Top Shelf playlist on it now). We’re going to try and figure out how to get each podcast its own channel, but for now you can find everything there (and really, you should listen to both of them, because they’re both wonderful).
This week, we recapped the preliminary play and talked about who surprised us, made our bronze medal predictions (because we recorded BEFORE the bronze medal game), and then each talked about something from the week that was bugging us. We chatted about whether the Olympics should keep women’s hockey (why is this even a question we have to talk about good grief) and our issue (or non-issue) with the NBC broadcast. Also, we play more Start-Bench-Cut.
If you want to ask a question that we might answer in our mailbag, comment below, tweet at @Hannah_Bevis1 or @michelle_jay3 using the hashtag #topshelfmailbag, or message our Tumblr.
We also want to see your selfies! Tweet out a photo of where you listen to the podcast with the hashtag #TopShelfie. Hopefully, we’ll start getting some podcast merch made that we can give out as prizes for them.
(A note, there IS some swearing on this podcast. We try to keep it PG. It mostly works.)
