TIG Reacts Survey: PHF player salary disclosure

What do you think about salary disclosure?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the hockey world. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in hockey fans.

The Premier Hockey Federation is two months into its free agency period. While we’ve gotten some information related to the figures involved, it seems like the Fed has clamped down hard on players disclosing their salaries, with rumors swirling that there are even NDAs involved in the contracts. With that, any information related to the numbers has dried up, despite the fanfare heralding a doubled salary cap closer to the beginning of the calendar year. In addition, teams like the Boston Pride have elected to keep all of their signings private until the roster has been finalized, in turn keeping the contracts themselves private.

This has led to a lot of discussion around whether players should be allowed to talk about how much they’re making or not. Some say it would lead to fairer negotiation and transparency, while others think it could lead to unfair discussion if a player doesn’t live up to contract expectations.

So what do you think? Should PHF players be given the option to disclose their salaries?
