The Women’s Sports Network has arrived

And it will have women’s hockey content soon

The first-ever 24/7 streaming network for women’s sports has arrived — the Women’s Sports Network. It will be streaming across multiple platforms, including Amazon Freevee, FuboTV, LG Channels on LG Smart TVs, Local Now, Plex, Sports.tv, Tubi, and Xumo and is free and ad-supported.

Fans can look forward to “live game-action starting in 2023, insightful commentary, in-depth documentaries, and the largest connected community of fans of all women’s sports”. There is also a flagship 30-minute show called GAME ON that will touch on the latest sports news, hottest topics, and current sports pop culture. It sounds like we will see the kind of content we have only seen sporadically, if at all, on major sports networks.

WSN has partnerships with 12 sports leagues and is promising content on all of them — Erica L. Ayala of Forbes has reported that the PHF is one of those leagues. The Ice Garden has confirmed that there will be coverage of both the PHF and the PWHPA on the network, which means that women’s hockey fans will want to keep a close eye on the coverage and content at WSN.

It’s also important to note that Hockey Hall of Fame member and USA Hockey legend Angela Ruggiero is on the Women’s Sports Network board of advisors. Women’s hockey will definitely have a home here — which means we should expect highlights, documentaries, interviews, and original content in other forms.
