Team USA will host Team Canada for a Joint Training Camp in November

Bitter rivals will share the ice in Pittsburgh for a training camp before the 2019-20 Rivalry Series Begins

In conjunction with the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, the United States Women’s National Team and USA Hockey will host Team Canada for a week-long training camp from Nov. 4-10 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, which is just north of Pittsburgh. This training camp will serve as a replacement for the 2019 Four Nations Cup, which was cancelled as a result of Team Sweden’s #FörFramtiden boycott.

As part of the week-long training camp, the two titans of international women’s hockey will play a pair of exhibition games which will be open to the public. Those games will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m. EDT and Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Both games will take place at the FedEx Rink of the Lemieux UPMC Sports Complex. Fans interested in attending can buy tickets here.

Team USA’s roster for the training camp will be released later this week, but its biggest stars — including Hilary Knight and Kendall Coyne Schofield — are expected to attend. At the moment, the overwhelming majority of post-collegiate Team USA and Team Canada players are participating in weekend showcases and other events with the PWHPA.

The 2019-20 Rivalry Series will begin in Hartford, CT, just over a month after this joint training camp in Pittsburgh concludes. The second annual installment of the Rivalry Series kicks off on Dec. 14, which is roughly 14 weeks away from the beginning of the 2020 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Halifax and Truro, Canada.
