Seattle Torrent, New York Sirens Set for First PWHL Game at Madison Square Garden
Seattle and New York will meet April 4 at Madison Square Garden in the first PWHL game played at the venue.
Women’s hockey returns to Madison Square Garden when the Seattle Torrent face the New York Sirens on April 4 at 8 p.m. ET, marking the first Professional Women’s Hockey League game played at the venue and the first time fans can attend a professional women’s hockey game at the Garden.
This game also marks the Sirens’ debut at Madison Square Garden as the league continues to bring regular-season games into major sports venues. Madison Square Garden last hosted a professional women’s hockey game in February 2021, when the PWHPA staged a Dream Gap Tour matchup without fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We are excited to partner with the Professional Women’s Hockey League and welcome the New York Sirens to The World’s Most Famous Arena for what promises to be an electrifying matchup against the Seattle Torrent on April 4," said Joel Fisher, Executive Vice President, MSG Marquee Events & Operations in a press release.
Madison Square Garden has previously hosted major moments in women’s sports, including the first women’s college basketball game played at the arena in 1975 and the first women’s boxing match to headline the venue in 2022. The Sirens’ appearance adds women’s professional hockey to that history.

“Playing at the Garden is an honor and sharing it with our dedicated fans will make it even more special," Sirens General Manager Pascal Daoust said in the press release. "New York doesn’t just watch moments; it lives with them. This is one of those nights meant to be experienced together, in the building, as part of the history of our team, our league, and everyone who helps bring it to life.”
This will be the third and final meeting between Seattle and New York during the 2025-26 regular season. The teams have split the season series so far with Seattle winning the first meeting 2-1 after captain Hilary Knight and former Sirens forward Alex Carpenter scored in the final two minutes of regulation at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. New York responded with a 4-3 win in the PWHL Takeover Tour game in Dallas, led by a hat trick from New York City native Casey O’Brien.
