PWHPA announces Secret Dream Gap Tour stop in Chicago

The games will be the second stop in 2021.

The PWHPA announced its second set of games for its second season. The Secret Dream Gap Tour is heading to Chicago for games on March 6 and March 7.

The New Hampshire and Minnesota hubs will face off at the United Center on Saturday, March 6 at 3 pm eastern and on Fifth Third Arena on Sunday, March 7 at 11:30 a.m. eastern.

The first game will be broadcast on NBCSN as well, with Kate Scott as play-by-play and A.J. Mleczko as analyst and Kathryn Tappen as host. Streaming details for Sunday’s game have yet to be announced.

As if the New Hampshire and Minnesota teams don’t already have enough built-in rivalry being the only two U.S.-based PWHPA teams, their schedule will add to it. They’ll be playing each other three times in eight days. The pair of teams will kick off the 2021 Secret Dream Gap Tour at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Feb. 28.

PWHPA, Rangers partner for first Secret Dream Gap Tour game in 2021

They are partnering with the Chicago Blackhawks for the games. This is the third time the organization has partnered with an NHL team this season, after their previous announcements of working with the New York Rangers for their New York Secret Dream Gap Tour stop and Toronto Maple Leafs for a future stop when allowed.

Last season, the PWHPA had a Dream Gap Tour stop in Chicago. Four mixed rosters played at Fifth Third Arena and were coached by four women’s hockey legends. The 2021 stop will be the first time the PWHPA has returned to a US city and only the second time they’ve played in the same city twice.
