PWHL Seattle has added its fourth player during the exclusive signing window for the expansion teams, signing forward Alex Carpenter to a one-year contract.

Carpenter, 31, was one of the New York Sirens’ initial three signings ahead of the inaugural season. She recorded 43 points in 50 games and won 55.9 percent of faceoffs taken over the last two seasons. She also registered four game-winning goals, including two this season, and served as an alternate captain for the team.

Last season, Carpenter was a First Team All-Star, as well as a finalist for the Forward of the Year and Billie Jean King MVP awards. She was surprisingly left unprotected by the Sirens ahead of the pre-draft period and The Ice Garden noted her as one of the top forwards available.

Carpenter is a two-time Olympic silver medalist and seven-time Worlds medalist who also has pro experience in the PWHPA, PHF, CWHL and in Russia. She won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award in 2015 after registering a whopping 278 points (133-145) in 150 NCAA games with Boston College.

In the league's media release, PWHL Seattle general manager Meghan Turner lauded Carpenter as “a true competitor who brings intensity every time she steps on the ice” and “an elite two-way player who has proven to be one of the best in the world for years.”

Carpenter joins an already stacked Seattle team, alongside forwards Hilary Knight and Danielle Serdachny and defender Cayla Barnes. PWHL Seattle can now add one more player before the exclusive signing window closes on Sunday, June 8 at 5 p.m. ET.
