PWHL Releases 2025 Draft Order and Free Agency Dates
The 2025 Entry Draft order will be determined by the playoff standings, while the signing window opens June 16th.

On Friday, the PWHL announced the details for the next two major events in the off-season, the signing window and the 2025 Entry Draft.
The order for the 2025 Entry Draft, happening June 24th in Ottawa, has been determined. According to the Gold Plan, the team with the most wins after being officially eliminated from the playoffs picks overall. Like last season, the New York Sirens will pick first overall.

As the other team officially eliminated from the playoffs, the Boston Fleet will pick second. The lowest-ranked playoff semifinalist, the Toronto Sceptres, will pick third, followed by the highest-ranked playoff semifinalist, the Montréal Victoire. Championship runners-up, the Ottawa Charge, will pick fifth, and the 2025 champs, the Minnesota Frost, will pick sixth.
The two new expansion teams, Vancouver and Seattle, will pick seventh and eighth, respectively. This was dictated by a random draw. Throughout the draft, the expansion teams will swap positions each round (e.g., Seattle will pick 15th, and Vancouver will pick 16th).

In a change from last year, the playoff order has been used to determine the draft order, rather than the regular season standings. During the draft, 48 players will be selected across the eight teams. The eligible players can be found here.
Fans in Canada can watch the first three rounds of the 2025 Entry Draft, hosted by Kenzie Lalonde, on TSN, TSN+, and TSN.ca, and the remaining rounds will be on TSN+. International viewers can watch all of the rounds on the PWHL YouTube channel.
While tickets are sold out for the actual draft, the PWHL will host a fan fest before the event, starting at 3 PM ET on June 24. There will be food trucks, merchandise, DJs, sponsor activations, and the opportunity to welcome draft picks on the purple carpet.
The league also announced that all eight teams can begin signing players with expiring contracts and make trades starting June 16. These trades can include 2025 draft picks. There will be a roster freeze from June 27 at 2 PM ET to July 8 at 9 AM ET.
