PWHL Expansion Draft Player Protection List Announced

It’s officially time for the PWHL to expand. The league announced each of the original six teams' initial protection lists via a press release shortly after today's noon ET deadline. As a reminder, each team got to protect three players ahead of the draft. They will each be able to protect one more after they have relinquished two of their players to the expansion clubs.

The exclusive signing window for PWHL Seattle and Vancouver opens tomorrow, June 4, at 9 a.m. ET. Soon-to-be free agents and any player left exposed can sign with either club from then until June 8 at 5 p.m. ET, with each expansion team signing a maximum of five players during this window. The 2025 PWHL expansion draft will take place on June 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
