NCAA tournament canceled

The four first round games at campus sites were set to begin on Saturday.

A day after deciding the remaining games would be played with limited fans, the NCAA cancelled the National Tournament due to the spread of coronavirus.

Games in the women’s hockey tournament were set to begin on Saturday with teams playing Northeastern, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Cornell. The National Championship was set to be played at Boston University starting March

Per Nicole Hasse on Twitter, the teams who had to fly were already in the air before the decision was made.

The NCAA joins numerous other sports leagues in cancelling or postponing games as the NBA, NHL, MLB, and NWHL all postponed their game(s) and the IIHF who cancelled the 2020 World Championships.
