Montréal PWHPA chapter announces first events

A website, a golf tournament, and a game!

The PWHPA announced its first event of the fall via social media. The posts led to a specific PWHPA Montréal website with more information.

The Montréal chapter is hosting a golf tournament fundraiser on Sept. 27 at a course about 45 minutes outside of the city. In addition, the day features a cocktail hour and a dinner.

The site calls the tournament the “marquee fundraiser” for the year. The event has numerous ways to support — and interact with — the players. Marie-Philip Poulin, Hilary Knight, Mélodie Daoust, Lauriane Rougeau, and more are listed on the site as players who will be there.

Opportunities include being able to add one of the players to the your foursome as well as sponsor holes, golf carts, and more. You can also just attend the cocktail hour and dinner, if golf isn’t your thing.

The website also listed an exhibition game against the University of Montréal on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. Former Les Canadiennes player and current Hockey Canada player Mélodie Daoust is an assistant coach for the Carabins, and former Les Canadiennes associate coach Danièle Sauvageau is the team’s associate director.

There’s a spot on the site for a game schedule; however, its empty right now.

Montréal is one of nine chapter organizations in the PWHPA. The other eight are Boston, Buffalo, the tri-state New York/New Jersey/Connecticut, Calgary, Markham, Toronto, and other. Thus far, no other regions have announced plans.
