John Bouchard's PWHL Draft Tools

Nifty tools created and owned by John Bouchard.

With the conclusion of the Walter Cup final, all eyes turn into the Expansion Draft and the Entry Draft. With the many rules and conditions the PWHL has laid out for both drafts, it can get hard to predict. I created a couple of tools that help with the process, PWHL Expansion Draft Tool and PWHL Entry Draft tool.

The PWHL Expansion Draft Tool starts by having you attach the PWHL roster using a CSV upload. I created a sheet using a template from my EA Sports PWHL Player Ratings Dashboard. I have updated it with current ratings for the players. After uploading, you can follow the instructions on the tool to do protected players for each team, do the signing of non-protected players, and then the expansion draft. The tool allows you to export the rosters of each team after the simulated draft. I used the same idea when creating the PWHL Entry Draft Tool.

Follow the links and get drafting!

Like the expansion tool, the PWHL Entry Draft Tool uses a CSV to set the draft pool. The CSV is located here. The CSV includes the players that PWHL has released as eligible players. The CSV includes last season's stats and rankings from many users online. I used the rankings to better sort players in the selection tool.

I will be making small changes to the tools (draft order) and potentially adding a Free Agency Tool and new 2025 EA Ratings Dashboards. Let me know what simulation scenarios you come up with and your dream Vancouver and Seattle rosters look like.
