Riveters acquire Maria Sorokina for future considerations
Boston Pride at Buffalo Beauts at 1:30 p.m. eastern - Twitter Game of the Week
The two teams split their previous meeting in Boston — with both teams having commanding wins. The Pride come into this game riding high while the Beauts are somewhere in the middle. They’re definitely struggling offensively to get much going some nights, but hopefully their streak of five straight home games will help that.

Metropolitan Riveters at Connecticut Whale at 1:30 p.m. eastern - YouTube
This is a big game for the Riveters. A loss here might all but resign them to finishing the season in last place, especially with a tough end of the season schedule of the Pride and Beauts. Look to see if the Riveters start their new goalie in net, go back to Katie Fitzgerald who has seemed to lost the starting job, or stick with Kimberly Sass. The Whale, while not placing well in the standing, have been rising, looking solid in their season thus far.
CWHL
The CWHL is back for 2019 with a big weekend! Two of the six games will be televised on Sportsnet. The games feature arguably the hottest four teams, giving the league great exposure. The All-Star Game captains will also be announced during the games.
The two games are set to have all-female broadcast squads. Cassie Campbell-Pascall and Leah Hextall will be on the Montreal and Toronto game with Hextall being joined by Jennifer Botterill for the second day.

Toronto Furies at Les Canadiennes de Montreal at 12:30 p.m. eastern - Sportsnet
This game gives the CWHL the chance to showcase some of the top talent in the world on Sportsnet: Marie Philip Poulin, Ann-Sophie Bettez, Hilary Knight, Natalie Spooner, and more. Expect both teams — even the slightly underperforming Furies — to have great games coming out of the holiday break. This should be a fun one!
KRS Vanke Rays at Worcester Blades at 1:30 p.m. eastern
KRS might be the Blades best chance at winning a game this season — if it weren’t for Noora Raty. Even back up Kimberly Newell has played well, making it tough for the Blades. The bigger question is who does Blades’ coach Paul Kennedy start in net? It has been a bit of a revolving crease thus far.
Calgary Inferno at Markham Thunder at 7:30 p.m. eastern
This weekend is a big test of the Thunder. The reigning Clarkson Cup champions are struggling a bit this season, and their hold on third place looks to be a bit in trouble a tough end of the season schedule — starting with this weekend and Calgary. Victoria Bach can continue her standout rookie season though facing fellow BU alumna Rebecca Leslie.
The Inferno will be without Brianna Decker as she will be an assistant coach for Team USA’s U18 team at Worlds in Japan.
