Last Time Out

Team USA tied up the series in the last leg, earning a 3-2 overtime win and a 2-0 shutout victory on Canadian soil.

It was a better showing for the U.S. after dropping the first two games of the series. First, they erased a 2-0 deficit and then won in overtime on Hilary Knight’s second goal of the game. Then in game four, Knight once again had the game-winning goal and Maddie Rooney posted a 26-save shutout.

Some additional notes: Team USA appears to have trimmed their roster down to 23 players (which is the Olympic roster size) and Canada also announced their first centralization roster releases back on Dec. 3: Jaime Bourbonnais, Jessie Eldridge, and Julia Gosling.
