Brittany Ott re-signs with the Boston Pride

The speculation is officially over. The Boston Pride agreed to terms with veteran NWHL goaltender Brittany Ott today, bringing her back for a third season in Boston.

Ott leads all NWHL goaltenders in regular season wins, earning 22 through the league’s first two seasons. According to Crease Giants she has also put together 16 career quality starts in the regular season. For some context, former Olympian Brianne McLaughlin had 11 quality starts through the NWHL’s first two seasons.

The University of Maine alumna won the NWHL’s Goaltender of the Year Award in the league’s inaugural season. Ott was also a crucial cog in the Pride’s 2016 Isobel Cup Championship, posting a .915 save percentage in the postseason.

“I'm very excited to get back out on the ice with the Pride and get started working toward the season,” Ott shared in the league’s press release. “For me, the end goal remains the same: win a second Isobel Cup for Boston and to continue to grow the game as best as we can. There is nothing like playing in front of the fans we have in Boston.”

Ott is the second goaltender to sign with Boston this offseason, following rookie Brianna Laing. With Ott inked the Pride now have 18 players under contract for the 2017-18 season. Boston agreed to terms with forward/defender Meagan Mangene on August 25th.
