Jacquie Greco re-signs with Beauts

Today the Buffalo Beauts agreed to terms with 26-year-old forward and defender Jacquie Greco. The 2017-18 season will be Greco’s second in the NWHL. She played a total of 15 regular season games last season and two postseason games before lifting the Isobel Cup with the Beauts.

From the league’s press release:

“I couldn’t be happier to be back in Buffalo playing for my hometown team. The support from our fans is unbelievable and I look forward to defending the Cup with a new set of players and my teammates from last year. I already felt the energy from the new players back at our camp in June and I can’t wait to get started with this group.”

Greco was a senior captain at Syracuse University during the 2012-13 season before taking her talents to the NWHL. A defense-first player, Greco scored one goal and put eight shots on net in her rookie year. She also blocked eight shots and took just one minor penalty.

Greco is the the 20th player signed by the Beauts, which means that Buffalo has just five roster spots available. She is also the the 10th player returning from the Beauts 2017 Isobel Cup winning roster. Greco’s experience should prove valuable on a Buffalo team that will have plenty of young rookies.

Prior to Greco signing the Beauts already had six defenders inked. As a result, we may see her jump in on the offense more during the 2017-18 season.
