Finalists for CWHL 2019 Jayna Hefford Award announced
Two players from Montréal and one from Calgary are up for the player-voted MVP award
Rounding out their final individual award, the CWHL announced the finalists for the Jayna Hefford Award for most valuable player as voted by the players. The finalists are Brianne Jenner (Calgary Inferno), Emerance Maschmeyer (Les Canadiennes de Montréal), and Marie-Philip Poulin (Montréal).

Jenner had her best CWHL season to date. Her 19 goals, a career high, tied her for second in the league and led the Inferno. Her 32 points also led the team and tied for fourth overall. Jenner topped the league in short-handed assists as well.
Maschmeyer, who is also a finalist for Goaltender of the Year, had the best save percentage (.935) in the league. She earned four shutouts for Les Canadiennes and had a league-best 15 wins in net.
Poulin could potentially win her third Jayna Hefford Award. She led the league with 50 points and 23 goals in the regular season, and her 27 assists were second only to her teammate Ann-Sophie Bettez. Poulin’s points-per-game average of 1.92 far outpaced any other player in the league.
The winner will be announced on March 22 during the Awards Show.
Past winners include Marie-Philip Poulin (2016, 2017, Les Canadiennes de Montréal) and Jamie Lee Rattray (2018, Markham Thunder).
