Team Czechia and former University of Minnesota-Duluth netmider Blanka Škodová has transferred from HIFK in Finland's Naisten Liiga to AIK in the SDHL, the team announced Friday.

AIK currently sits dead last in the SDHL, winless with zero points in their eight games played.

"Under the current circumstances, we have decided that it is best to secure with one more goalkeeper," said head coach Conny Olausson in the team's press release. "We are very satisfied that Blanka chooses to strengthen us and look forward to a good collaboration."

Škodová, 26, comes to Stockholm with two consecutive Women's World Championship bronze medals under her belt with Team Czechia. She spent the first four years of her NCAA career with the University of Vermont Catamounts before transferring to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for her final season.

She returned to Europe at the start of the 2023-2024 season and played five games for HIFK, putting up a tidy .924 save percentage with a 1.4 GAA. At AIK she joins goaltenders Cami Kronish, Linnea Holterud Olsson, and Elinah Melinder. The team's fifth netminder Tilde Eriksson is currently rostered with AIK 2 in Division 1.
