Calgary Inferno win 2019 Clarkson Cup, 5-2

Two goals by Zoe Hickel lifts team to their second championship in four seasons

After finishing in first place in the regular season, the Calgary Inferno sealed the season with the Clarkson Cup, beating Les Canadiennes de Montréal, 5-2.

The Inferno also beat Les Canadiennes in 2016 to win the Cup, making this their second championship in four seasons.

Montréal and Calgary to face off in Clarkson Cup final

The biggest question mark coming into the game was whether Marie-Philip Poulin would play. The Montréal captain was injured in their last regular season game and did not play in the semifinal series. Poulin dressed and took light warm ups, took the ceremonial faceoff, but did record a second of time on ice during the game.

Emerance Maschmeyer saw 30 shots, stopping 26 of them, while Alex Rigsby saw 27 and stopped 25. Both were tested at various times and both came up with huge saves to keep their teams in the game.
