Boston Fleet to Play First Game at TD Garden
The Boston Fleet will take on the Montréal Victoire at TD Garden on April 11, 2026.
The Boston Fleet are finally shipping up to Boston’s largest arena.
The Fleet announced this morning that they will take on the Montréal Victoire on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET at TD Garden. It will mark the first time women’s professional hockey has been played at the Garden, and just the fourth women’s hockey game all-time at the arena, with only three women’s Beanpot championships preceding it.
“This marks a special milestone in our club’s history,” Boston Fleet general manager Danielle Marmer said during a press conference following the announcement. “...This is something that our players and our fans deserve. Our players have gotten to play in some pretty big games. We got to play in the Bell Centre against Montréal, so I feel like we’re returning the favor a little bit, but really excited to be able to pack a stadium with Boston Fleet fans. And again, our fans also deserve this. Hopefully, we can create a fanbase that’s a little bit bigger than what Tsongas and Agganis can hold combined for this game. They deserve to be able to watch our team play in an atmosphere like that.”
The Fleet are the last of the PWHL’s original six teams to play at their city’s NHL arena. Boston is also the final current PWHL market to host a game at its NHL venue, with Vancouver hosting a Takeover Tour at the home of the Canucks last season and Seattle playing at Climate Pledge Arena, home of the Seattle Kraken, full-time.
This game will also be part of an unofficial double-header with the Boston Bruins, who play the Tampa Bay Lightning at 12:30 p.m. ET that day.
So far, two women’s Beanpots have taken place at TD Garden, with the third set for January 20, 2026. The crowds have reflected the growing appetite for women's hockey around the country, with 10,633 turning out for the 2024 Beanpot, followed by 13,279 in 2025. The current attendance record for a women’s hockey game in the United States is 16,014, recently set by the Seattle Torrent at their inaugural home opener on November 28. When asked above his hopes and expectations for the April 11 crowd, Fleet head coach Kris Sparre kept it simple.
“Let’s beat it [the attendance record],” Sparre said. “Let’s beat all [of] them. This is the greatest sports city in the United States, so I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t exceed those numbers and push well above and beyond all those numbers that we’ve seen so far.”
