Ann-Renée Desbiens continued her rewrite of the NCAA record book on Sunday, adding yet another accolade to her illustrious Wisconsin career. Shutting out Bemidji State at LaBahn Arena in Madison, Desbiens brought her career shutout total to an eye-popping 44. In doing so, she broke Noora Räty’s record (set 2010-13), her fourth major mark in the past twelve months.

In 99 games as a Badger, opponents have scored just 93 goals in 5,920 minutes against Desbiens, and just 38 goals in the past 50 games. The 2016 USCHO Player of the Year, she improved her career saves percentage to .952, with an otherworldly 0.94 goals against average.
A four-year starter, Desbiens was a top three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award last year. She looks to be competitive for the award again this year, stopping 184 of the 193 shots she’s faced as the Badgers have knocked off several ranked foes, including Clarkson and North Dakota - both on the road.
The SB Nation consensus No. 1 Badgers (11-0-1) have the weekend off before going on the road to face WCHA rival No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth (6-2-2) next week.
