A Very Goldeneyes Christmas
As the Goldeneyes fans pen their letters to Santa for Christmas, here's what's on their lists 🎅
'Twas a few nights before Christmas, and out on the ice, not a creature was stirring, not even some mice.
Goldeneyes fans were writing their Santa notes with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...
Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is...
A Win on the Road
If there's one thing that the Goldeneyes are missing this season, it's a win on the road. Until Saturday's game against the Victoire, they were undefeated on home ice. In fact, three straight wins on home ice is a PWHL record!
But, only winning on home ice doesn't get you a championship. The Goldeneyes will be heading on the road for six straight games after Christmas, so a win on the road will need to come soon, especially if they want to keep getting closer to .500.

A Healthy Roster
Starting the season with Nina Jobst-Smith on the LTIR, and then losing Sarah Nurse to an injury after the home opener, has meant the Goldeneyes have yet to ice the full team they've been building since the expansion draft.
I wrote about how impactful the loss of Sarah Nurse has been for the team in my last article, so—without sounding like a broken record—getting her back on the ice will be great for the morale of the team, and their on-ice play.

Plus, it will be great to see how Jobst-Smith acclimatizes to the PWHL when she hits the ice again.
A Michelle Karvinen Goal
While the Goldeneyes' first overall pick has found her legs and her physicality in the PWHL, she has yet to find the back of the net. That's not to say she hasn't been contributing; she's picked up two assists and has fired 11 pucks on the net. But getting a first goal in the PWHL is something surely she, and the fans, are eager to see. And for a player who's scored over 300 goals at the professional level in Europe, it's certainly coming soon.
Why would Vancouver draft a 35-year-old in the 1st round? Because it's Michelle Karvinen!

All-time leading scorer for Finland at the Worlds. Still has speed and can put the puck in the back of the net. Played for Vancouver's coach Brian Idalski at UND and in China. Win-now pick. pic.twitter.com/C8yZbLaskH
More Sing-Along Opportunities
If you've been to a Goldeneyes game, you'll know that the fans love a sing-along. Even if it's not planned, fans will keep singing the songs playing between whistles, even after the puck has dropped again. Not even the planned sing-alongs are enough to satiate the need to sing! Let's get more sing-alongs in 2026.
Away Jerseys for Sale
The home ice blue Goldeneyes jerseys are stunning, and fans can pick one up in person—I saw Gardiner, Nurse, Miller, and Jaques for sale when I went to the Coliseum store—or order one online. But the cream jerseys are just so perfect. Fans have been commenting on the team's posts, asking for the away jerseys.
The league recently made the away jerseys available for the original six teams, so fans can hope that they'll be able to get their hands on the away jerseys soon. And hope for a nice blue one under the tree while they wait.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!
