2025 Top 25 Under 25: Kristýna Kaltounková (7)
A relentless scoring threat with a knack for big-game moments, Kaltounková is proving she belongs among the PWHL’s next wave of stars.

If you watched Czechia play at the 2025 Women's Worlds, you know how electric Kristýna Kaltounková can be. The 23-year-old forward combines speed, creativity, and finishing touch in a way that makes her a constant threat. After a dominant collegiate career at Colgate and continued success on the international stage, she’s now established herself as one of the most exciting young forwards in the world.
2024-25 Season
Kaltounková wrapped up her fifth season at Colgate as one of the Raiders’ most dynamic offensive players. Wearing the “A” on her jersey, she put up 48 points (26 goals, 22 assists) in 37 games, again ranking near the top of her team in scoring. It was her fourth straight season as a point-per-game player, and she leaves Colgate with 233 points in 171 games.

On the international stage, she helped lead Czechia at the 2025 Women’s World Championship, posting four goals and two assists in seven games. Her ability to drive offense in tough matchups stood out, especially against the top-tier nations, and she continues to be a pillar of Czechia’s rise as a medal contender.
Past and Future
Kaltounková’s journey is as remarkable as her stats. After tearing up Czech leagues as a teenager, she came to North America to attend Vermont Academy before joining Colgate in 2020. She wasted no time adjusting, scoring 18 points as a freshman and then exploding for 53 points in her sophomore season. From there, she never looked back, stringing together three straight years of 50+ points and emerging as one of the top forwards in the NCAA.
Internationally, she’s been a fixture on Czech rosters since her U18 days, when she recorded seven points in five games at the 2018 World Championship. As part of Czechia’s new golden generation, she’s helped push the program forward, bringing her speed and scoring touch to every tournament.
It's easy to see why the New York Sirens coveted Kristyna Kaltounkova with the No. 1 pick.

Physical forward who can play center or wing and embraces contact. Arguably the best shot in the draft. An exciting fit alongside Fillier, or as a different flavor on a different line. pic.twitter.com/2KNRr6HJVX
Looking ahead, the next step for Kaltounková is the professional ranks. With her offensive toolkit and her proven ability to adapt at every level, she projects as an impact player in the PWHL. Whether as a top-line scoring threat or a versatile top-six option, she has the skills to become one of the league’s most entertaining players.
Ranking
This year marks Kaltounková’s first appearance on the list, climbing all the way to number seven. That feels like the right spot for a player who has excelled in the NCAA and proven herself internationally. If she transitions smoothly into the PWHL, it’s not hard to imagine her breaking into the top five next year.
