The PHFPA’s new executive director is a Harvard Crimson legend

We have a new head of the Players’ Association of the Premier Hockey Federation. Nicole Corriero has been named the next Executive Director of the PA.

Corriero, 38, is a former captain of the Harvard Crimson who is currently practicing law as an injury attorney in Toronto, ON. She earned a JD at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School. Sports injuries and sports negligence are among her focuses in her practice.

From the Lofranco Corriero Personal Injury Lawyers site:

Nicole’s entire legal career has been devoted to acting on behalf of injured Plaintiffs. She has assisted clients with litigation of accident benefits claims, negligence claims, disability claims, Social Benefit appeals, and wrongful dismissal claims.

A passionate advocate for her clients, Nicole has successfully represented her clients at various Administrative Tribunals, the Divisional Court and the Superior Court of Justice. This includes a number of precedent-setting Statutory Accident Benefits cases, as well as highly successful Jury trials.

Corriero was nominated for an ESPY award in 2005 for scoring 59 goals in 36 GP at Harvard. She was also a Top-10 Finalist for the Patty Kaz in 2004 and 2005 and named the MVP of ECAC in 2005. Per her practice’s site, she has several collegiate records that stand to this day —- including goals in a season and goals (6) and points (10) in a game. In 2015, she represented Team Italy at the Ball Hockey World Championship where she played alongside Liz Knox now of the PWHPA.

So, it’s safe to say, that Corriero has deep roots in hockey.

Corriero is the fourth head of the NWHL/PHF players’ association, succeeding Alex Sinatra, Anya Packer, and Erika Lawler.
