2022 PHF playoff bracket is set

The 2022 Isobel Cup Playoff Bracket is set, who will win the Cup?!?!?!

PHF / Connecticut Whale

It came down to the final game, on the final day, but the Premier Hockey Federation standings are set and all six teams are now locked into their positions with the 2022 Isobel Cup Playoffs kicking off in five days.

For the first time in franchise history, the Connecticut Whale (15-3-2, 47 points) have finished in first place. Despite having their 12-game win streak snapped on Saturday in a 5-4 overtime loss, the Whale rebounded and routed the Toronto Six (16-3-1, 46 points) to the tune of 5-0 on Sunday, leapfrogging them into the PHF penthouse.

Despite the stunning loss Toronto still finishes their first full season in second place, and like Connecticut has earned a bye into the semifinals.

The Whale will face the lowest remaining seed on Sunday, March 27 (1 pm ET) and the Six will face-off against the highest remaining seed, also on March 27 (4:30 pm ET).

The sixth seed, the Buffalo Beauts (6-14-0, 15 points) will take on the third seed, the Boston Pride (10-5-5, 32 points) in the first matchup on Friday, March 25 (4 pm ET); if Boston wins they will play Toronto and if Buffalo wins they will play Connecticut. The Beauts and Pride have played four, one-goal games this season with each team sweeping at home; Buffalo just finished off Boston in overtime on consecutive days.

The fifth seed, the Minnesota Whitecaps (6-13-1, 19 points) will take on the fourth seed, the Metropolitan Riveters I(7-12-1, 21 points) n the second matchup on Friday, March 25 (7:30 pm ET). The Rivs and Whitecaps split their season series, with each team winning once at home and on the road.

The winners of the two semifinal games will meet in the 2022 Isobel Cup Final on March 28 (9:00 pm ET) on ESPN2 and TSN2. All other 2022 playoff games will be on ESPN+, Twitch, and TSN Direct.
