PWHPA’s Dream Gap Tour in St. Louis rescheduled for May 16 and 17

Team adidas and Team Women’s Sports Foundation are returning to the ice in St. Louis

The PWHPA is returning to action in St. Louis on May 16 and 17 for its third and final U.S. Secret® Dream Gap Tour showcase. These will be the final two meetings of the year between Team adidas (Minnesota) and Team Women’s Sports Foundation (New Hampshire). Of course, that doesn’t rule out future PWHPA showcase weekends taking place north of the border before the summer — and 2021 IIHF World Championship — arrives. But, chances are, we’d see different teams compete in those games.

From the PWHPA’s release:

The first Secret® Dream Gap Tour game in St. Louis will take place on May 16 at Centene Community Ice Center at 12 p.m. CT, and the showcase will conclude on May 17 with a 6 p.m. CT puck drop at Enterprise Center, home of the St. Louis Blues.

PWHPA’s St. Louis Dream Gap Tour Showcase postponed due to COVID exposure

The game on Monday, May 17th has limited tickets available. Team adidas currently has an 8-2 lead in the PWHPA’s standing scoring system thanks in large part to Abby Roque leading the way with eight primary points through four games. Fans and media who are interested in stats and scoring summaries from the first four games of the PWHPA’s Dream Gap Tour can find them here.

This is certainly welcome news after the PWHPA made the difficult but responsible decision to postpone the original dates for its stop in St. Louis after one of the two participating teams being exposed to COVID.

Marisa Ingemi and Salim Nadim Valji have reported that the PWHPA has partnered with the Calgary Flames which almost certainly means we’ll see a Dream Gap Tour weekend showcase in Alberta. The IIHF has rescheduled the 2021 World Championship between Aug. 20-31 in Canada in a location that remains TBD.
