Calgary PWHPA hub to be called Team Scotiabank

Another PWHPA has a team name and sponsor! Today, the organization announced that the Calgary hub will be sponsored by Scotiabank and thus named Team Scotiabank.

Team Scotiabank will wear mostly red jerseys with a white strip directly across the middle. The numbers on the players arms, which are set on white bands that align with the white on the body of the jersey, will be in red. It’s a striking jersey, simplistic in design but effective. Only one jersey was released.

They are the second hub with an official name, following Toronto becoming Team Sonnet last month.

For their second season, the PWHPA reorganized from eight training hubs to five and set rosters of 25 players rather than the rotating rosters they played with last season. The five hub teams will play for the Secret Cup, after Secret Deodorant gave the PWHPA $1 million in a corporate commitment.

The PWHPA said they plan on releasing dates for The Tour in early 2021. Initial plans were for six Showcase events.
