2019 Four Nations Cup schedule announced

The tournament heads north.

The 2019 Four Nations Cup will be played Nov. 5-9 at COOP Norrbotten Arena in Luleå, Sweden.

This is the fifth time the tournament has been held in Sweden, and the most northern location in its history. COOP Norrbotten Arena, better known locally as Delfinen, is home to three-time SDHL champions Luleå Hockey/MSSK and their male SHL counterparts Luleå Hockey.

Sweden last hosted Four Nations in 2015 in Sundsvall Municipality and they haven’t medaled since winning bronze the year before. Following their relegation to Division I Group A at last April’s IIHF World Championships, the Damkronorna are the only participating team not in the top tier of women’s hockey.

Last year’s tournament was in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where the US won their fourth straight gold medal and hosts Canada took silver. Bronze medalists Finland managed a respectable third place despite being ravaged by a team-wide stomach virus.
