Final standings for the week: No change in rankings, and precious little change in points margins, from the Tuesday post. That could all change today of course.

What happened since last post?

In the CHA quarterfinals...

Penn State beat RIT 4-1 in the first round of the CHA tournament on Wednesday. The victory margin flatters somewhat, the last two Penn State goals were empty netters. Terra Lanteigne (RIT, $58.80, 58.75 SP, 3.7 WP, 1 pick) ended her season on 58.75 points, only 0.25 points behind Lovisa Selander as top scoring goalie. She’s been an absolute rock and, unlike Selander and Merrimack’s Samantha Ridgewell (Merrimack, $44.9, 44.9 SP, 2.2 WP, 0 picks), she’s back next year.

Syracuse scored four unanswered goals from 1-0 down to beat Lindenwood 4-1. Goalie Sophie Wolf (Lindenwood, $23.4, 23.35 SP, 2.3 WP, 0 picks) ended the season as Lindenwood’s best scorer, even though she only emerged as Lindenwood’s starter when Jolene DeBruyne’s season ended in late November. DeBruyne isn’t on the roster right now and I don’t know if she’ll be back next year.

In the CHA semifinals

Robert Morris just squeezed past Penn State, 2-1 in a game where shots were 28-27 Robert Morris. Goalie Jenna Brenneman (Penn State, $33.7, 33.7 SP, 4.05 WP, 0 picks) was Penn State’s highest fantasy scorer for the season but was pulled with two minutes to go, presumably so Penn State wouldn’t get called for (wait for it) Too Many Brennemen on the Ice.

Syracuse stunned Mercyhurst 4-3, taking the lead in the second on two consecutive delayed penalty goals and striking back in the third just over a minute after Mercyhurst equalized. Lindsay Eastwood (Syracuse, $20, 20 SP, 6.1 WP, 1 pick) got her first career hat trick. Emma Nuutinen (Mercyhurst, $24.9, 24 SP, 0.6 WP, 2 picks) was Mercyhurst’s best player for the year and returns next year. Michele Robillard (Mercyhurst, $12.2, 11.6 SP, 5.3 WP, 0 picks) had maybe this year’s last double-your-season-points-in-a-week week.

In the CHA final

We’ll find out tonight!

Weekly awards

Individual awards

Lovisa Selander gets the highest weekly points for a goalie by far with 8.3 (second highest is Terra Lanteigne, with 6.85, set just last week). What a great career she had.

Most points: Lovisa Selander (RPI, 8.3 points this week (WP), 59 points this season (SP)), from Olivia Zafuto (7.4 WP) and Lindsay Eastwood (6.1 WP)

Most overlooked (highest scoring player that no-one picked): Michele Robillard (Mercyhurst, 5.3 WP, 11.6 SP)

Biggest boost (highest scoring player that only one manager picked): Lovisa Selander (RPI, 8.3 WP, 59 SP)

Biggest contribution (highest value of points this week * number of teams they’re on): Loren Gabel (Clarkson, 4.7 points * 18 picks = 84.6 total contribution)

Best Freshman: Sarah Fillier (Princeton, 5.6 WP, 50.8 SP)

Best Sophomore: Elizabeth Giguère (Clarkson, 5.3 WP, 71.9 SP)

Best Junior: Lindsay Eastwood (Syracuse, 6.1 WP, 20 SP)

Best Senior: Lovisa Selander (RPI, 8.3 WP, 59 SP)

Best D: Olivia Zafuto (Colgate, 7.4 WP, 41 SP)

Best F: Annie Pankowski (Wisconsin, 6 WP, 43 SP)

Best Goalie: Lovisa Selander (RPI, 8.3 WP, 59 SP)

Team of the week

The two shutouts against St. Cloud put Wisconsin goalie Kristen Campbell (Wisconsin, $39.2, 36.8 SP, 4.3 WP, 6 picks) in the Team of the Week for, perhaps surprisingly, the first time. With the two three-game series in the ECAC and every CHA team playing three or four games, we have a new season-high total score for the Team of the Week of 82.65. This beats the previous high of 81.75 set all the way back in week 6.

Roster: Lovisa Selander (RPI, G, 8.3), Olivia Zafuto (Colgate, D, 7.4), Lindsay Eastwood (Syracuse, D, 6.1), Annie Pankowski (Wisconsin, F, 6), Sarah Fillier (Princeton, F, 5.6), Elizabeth Giguère (Clarkson, F, 5.3), Michele Robillard (Mercyhurst, F, 5.3), Sarah Hine (Mercyhurst, F, 5.3), Skylar Fontaine (Northeastern, D, 5.3), Sammy Davis (BU, F, 5.1), Jessica Adolfsson (Penn State, D, 5.1), Shelby Wood (Colgate, D, 4.8), Codie Cross (Northeastern, D, 4.7), Kristen Campbell (Wisconsin, G, 4.3), Jenna Brenneman (Penn State, G, 4.05)

Score: 82.65

Cost: 569.7

What’s happening this weekend?

  • Friday: Robert Morris and Syracuse play for all the CHA marbles, or “Charbles” as they call them.
  • Saturday: In the ECAC, it’s Cornell v Princeton and Clarkson v Colgate. Remember that Colgate surprisingly swept Clarkson in the regular season, which is why they’re the higher seed for this game.
In Hockey East, it’s Northeastern v Providence and BC v BU. Providence won their last meeting with Northeastern and BU won two of three against BC in the regular season, so these games are not gimmes for the higher seeds.
In the WCHA, it’s Minnesota against Minnesota Duluth and Wisconsin against Ohio State. Ohio State shootout-swept Wisconsin in the last weekend of the regular season, so Wisconsin can’t take this game for granted, even though they’re guaranteed a ticket to the NCAAs anyway.
  • Sunday: Lunchtime — conference finals! 9 pm — NCAA Selection show!

I’ll try to have the spreadsheet updated Sunday evening so you can plan trades. You’ll have two trades before the NCAA quarterfinals. Have fun this weekend!
