The first regular-season NWHL outdoor game officially has a sponsor. Today, the NWHL announced that Labatt Blue will be the title sponsor of the Buffalo Believes Classic on Dec. 28 at RiverWorks in Buffalo.
“As a Canadian beer brand with deep hockey roots, we’re proud to partner with the National Women’s Hockey League,” said Labatt USA Brand Manager Jaime Polisoto in the league’s press release. “The Labatt Blue NWHL Buffalo Believes Classic will be packed with some of the most dedicated fans in hockey and we look forward to joining them to celebrate the game we love.”
According to the press release, Labatt is America’s top selling Canadian beer.
A special Beauts Beer was teased when the game was announced, so having a beer maker as the title sponsor is a perfect fit. There’s o word on what type of beer it will be, or if it will be solely a special can. In addition, RiverWorks has large silos with Labatt’s logo on them.
The Buffalo Beauts will host the Metropolitan Riveters in the Labatt Blue NWHL Buffalo Believes Classic. This will be the first meeting of the two teams this season.
