Pride inks partnership deal with Legal Sea Foods

Another fin-tastic partner for women’s hockey

The Boston Pride made waves today when it announced that the team has partnered with Boston-based restaurant chain Legal Sea Foods.

Legal has operated in the Boston area since 1950 and is a very well-known brand in New England and beyond. It certainly does not flounder in an area known for its seafood; in fact, it has floated to the top of date-night lists, especially with its iconic Harborside restaurant.

According to the press release, the partnership involves a number of fan-focused experiences that will be added to Pride home games, including the inception of the “Lobster Lob,” where foam versions of the beloved crustacean will be launched into the crowd.

No matter how unathletic you might be, don’t trout yourself — one of those lobsters will contain a $100 Legal Sea Foods gift card. It’s worth putting on a little mussel to try and reel in one of those cards, since good seafood can be expensive.

Legal Sea Foods will also park their Chowder Van (pronounced, and spelled on the vehicle, as ‘Chowda’) outside Warrior Ice Arena during Pride home games, and fans will get free tastes of the brand’s iconic chowder you’ve been herring all about.

We’ll get to sea the Lobster Lob for the first time this weekend when the Pride host the Beauts for their season opener. The game, which begins at 6:30 (ET), can be streamed on the NWHL Twitch account.
