It’s Official: 2019 NWHL All-Star Weekend to be in Nashville!
NHL’S Nashville Predators will be partnering with the NWHL this February.
The NWHL today announced that the league’s 2019 All-Star Weekend will be held in Nashville. The team will be partnering with the NHL’s Nashville Predators for the weekend, including a NHL/NWHL double-header on Sunday.

The Skills Competition will be held on Saturday, February 9th, and the All-Star Game will be held on Sunday, February 10th, directly following the Predators’ early afternoon game against the St. Louis Blues. Tickets will be available starting November 28th. The Skills Competition will be played at the Predators’ practice rink, the Ford Ice Center, while the All-Star Game will be played at Bridgestone Arena.
The Skills Competition will only have 500 tickets available.
This years’ captains will be Lee Stecklein of the Whitecaps and Shannon Szabados of the Beauts.
“I am so excited to represent the Beauts organization and my teammates at the NWHL All Star-Game,” Szabados said, in the league’s release. “It’s such a great honor to be named one of the captains for the game and I am looking forward to playing with the league’s best in Nashville.”
Though Nashville may seem like a surprise location to many. Olympians and former NWHL players Kacey Bellamy and Brianna Decker were there over the summer before Pyeongchang centralization, supporting the growth of girls’ hockey in the area.
This is the third NWHL All-Star Game to be played in a neutral market supported in some way by an NHL team. The inaugural All-Star game was held in Buffalo at the HarborCenter, home of the Beauts, but the 2017 All-Star Weekend was in Pittsburgh, and last year’s was in Minnesota — which then became the location of the NWHL’s first expansion team.
