Today, the NWHL announced they’d once again partner with Twitter to live stream games as the “Twitter Game of the Week”. This is the second season of the partnership.

The schedule includes 16 regular season games, the All-Star Game, and Isobel Cup Playoffs. The remaining games will be streamed on YouTube as they have been in the past.

A few notes on the schedule...

  • No Pride home games will be streamed on Twitter for a second straight season.
  • Six of the Riveters eight home games are Twitter Games of the Week.
  • Only one Whale home game is on the Twitter schedule.
  • Both games in NHL rinks are on tap for Twitter.

The playoffs are scheduled as over two weekends. With five teams in the league this season, we could see a team not make the playoffs for the first time in league history.

The league announced that last season the Isobel Cup Final had an audience of more than 900,000 on Twitter while the 2018 All-Star Game in Minnesota had 580,000.
