Sweden announces first Olympic summer camp roster

Camp starts June 26 as the Damkronorna look to PyeongChang

Team Sweden has invited 30 players to a summer training camp, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced Thursday.

The 18 forwards, 12 defenders, and four goaltenders will spend six days in Falun, Sweden, participating in on-ice training, physical tests, and three games. The camp will run from June 26 to July 2. The team has met once already this summer at a camp held in Crete, Greece for all prospective Swedish Olympians, but this is the first team-specific event.

Eighteen of the 30 players were members of Team Sweden at the 2017 World Championships in Plymouth, Michigan, including 16-year-old Maja Nyhlén Persson and the SDHL’s top three Swedish scorers: Erika Grahm, Lisa Johansson, and Fanny Rask.
