The gold medal team throws out first pitch in Red Sox pre-game ceremony

On Patriot’s Day in Massachusetts, the Boston Red Sox hosted the gold medal winning U.S. National Team before the game. Players Kacey Bellamy, Brianna Decker, Hilary Knight, Haley Skarupa, Emily Pfalzer, Meghan Duggan, Kelli Stack, Megan Keller,  Amanda Pelky, Kali Flanagan, and Gigi Marvin were on hand for the festivities.

After watching a quick introduction, the players filed onto the field for the ceremonial first pitch. On the pitcher’s mound, captain Meghan Duggan, who was expected to make the throw, handed off the ball to Kacey Bellamy, who delivered the pitch. As a group, they opened the game for play by saying the traditional, “Play ball!”

The players soaked up the sun and early afternoon game, continuing to post from Fenway.

Groups of players represented their colleges, including the group from just up the road.

Keller and Stack joined in the Win, Dance, Repeat dance of the Red Sox outfield.

After the game, a few of the players headed over to the Boston Marathon route to catch some of the race.

Knight joined up with other Boston Pride teammates to cheer for teammate Denna Laing, who was being pushed in the marathon by another teammate’s father, Bobby Carpenter.

Duggan found one of her friends who was running.
