Mira Jalosuo Moves To Oulun Kärpät

Finnish defender Mira Jalosuo returns to her first pro team.

Defender Mira Jalosuo is returning to Oulun Kärpät Naiset, the club announced Tuesday. Her contract runs until the end of January.

Jalosuo, 28, made her professional debut with Kärpät in 2004 and played with the  team for five years before becoming one of the first European players to join the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NCAA. She played last with the Minnesota Whitecaps before joining Kärpät for the last game of the season, where she was an integral part of their 10-game playoff run to the team's second Aurora Borealis Cup title.

Kärpät are currently second in the Naisten Liiga standings with 35 points. The addition of last year's Karoliina Rantamäki award winner as the league playoff MVP will only bolster an already solid team. Currently on Christmas break, the team will be back in action on January 13 in Hämeenlinna against HPK.
