Coming into the series with Lindenwood last weekend, the Syracuse Orange had a huge weight on their shoulders. They were six games into the 2016-17 season without a win, having lost four out of those six games and tying in the other two. They were struggling to find their scoring touch and weren’t doing enough defensively. However, they had a great opportunity to get their first two wins of the season against a weak Lindenwood Lions team and they seized it, winning both games by scores of 4-0.

The shutouts were the first of her career. Despite what her 2-3-2 record might imply, Abbey Miller is having a stellar junior season - she has a .937 save percentage in 7 games with a 1.40 goals against average.
