VEDA continues its sponsorship of the NWHL

For the second straight year, the NWHL’s Player of the Week Award will be presented by VEDA

Today the National Women’s Hockey League announced that VEDA, AG Health’s Endocannabinoid nutrition brand, has will continue its sponsorship and partnership with the league. Last year, the NWHL became the first pro sports league to accept sponsorship from a company in the hemp industry.

In it’s second year of being an official partner of the league, will make its CBD products available to the NWHL’s athletes and will “continue to empower the female athletes through sponsoring multiple deal points”. The league’s players will also receive a 50 percent split of the revenue of the sponsorship in addition to their existing salaries. Furthermore, VEDA will continue to be the title sponsor of the NWHL Player of the Week Award.

“VEDA is an extremely innovative partner for our players,” NWHLPA director Anya Battaglino shared in the league’s release. “Their first priority is absolutely the well-being of the players, and their products are provided to us to help with recovery and performance at the highest level. I am excited for another year with the VEDA team and look forward to pushing the sport of women’s hockey forward together.”

Relevant VEDA products that NWHL athletes can use to increase their performance and improve with recovery include CBD tinctures, sprays, vapes, and roll-ons. Additional products including a topical cream and pre-workout capsules are set to launch early Fall 2019. At the moment, it’s unclear which of these products will be available to NWHL athletes and in what quantity.

This is the second sponsorship deal that the NWHL has announced in the last three days.
