USA reveals roster for Rivalry Series

14 gold medalists highlight roster

Today, USA Hockey revealed its 22-woman roster for February’s Rivalry Series against Canada. The three-game series will begin with two games in Ontario — in London and Toronto — and will conclude on Feb. 17 in Detroit, MI, at Little Caesars Arena.

The United States women’s national team is highlighted by 14 gold medalists from the 2018 Olympics and 12 players who were part of the national team’s fourth straight Four Nations victory.

Forwards: Dani Cameranesi, Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker, Hayley Scamurra, Hannah Brandt, Alex Carpenter, Zoe Hickel, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Gigi Marvin, Amanda Kessel, Amanda Pelkey, Dana Trivigno, Haley Skarupa

Defenders: Kacey Bellamy, Megan Bozek, Savannah Harmon, Sidney Morin, Emily Pfalzer, Lee Stecklein, Michelle Picard

Goalies: Katie Burt, Alex Rigsby

This Rivalry Series marks a return to the national team for Bozek, Carpenter, Hickel, Picard, Stecklein, Skarupa, and Trivigno. It also represents a debut in major international competition with the senior team for Burt, Harmon, and Scamurra. Burt, 21, is the youngest player on the roster.

Sidney Morin is the only player on the national team who is not currently playing in the NWHL or CWHL. Morin is a star defender on Linköping HC of the SDHL. She has 16 goals and 19 assists in 29 games this season. Morin is one of the 14 players who won gold with USA at PyeongChang.

Bob Corkum will serve as the team’s head coach. Per USA Hockey, the rest of the national team’s coaching staff will be announced at a later date.

The first game of the Rivalry Series takes place on Feb. 12 at Budweiser Gardens at 7 p.m. (ET).

Team Canada roster announced for Rivalry Series with Team USA

Editor’s Note: Haley Skarupa was not listed as one of the players returning to the national team when this article was first published. That has since been corrected. She was not on Team USA’s roster for the 2018 Four Nations Cup, but was with the team at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
