WWC Game Thread: USA vs Finland

The United States Women’s National Team is back in action tonight. The American team is looking to sweep the preliminary round of the 2017 Women’s World Championship with a victory against Finland. Thus far USA has bested Canada and Russia in two shutout victories.

Finland has had a mercurial start to the WWC this year. After losing to Russia in a controversial one-goal game, Finland found a way to shock the hockey world and defeat Canada by one goal on Saturday night.

The Finns are led by star goaltender Noora Räty who has a .910 Sv% and a 2.42 GAA through her first two starts. Another key Finnish player is 5-foot-10 forward Susanna Tapani. Tapani has piled up 4 points for Finland through two games. She is the only skater on the team with more than one point.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast on the NHL Network tomorrow at 10:00am. But you can watch the action tonight on NHL.com when it streams live and free to the United States at 7:35pm.

Thus far the live stream has been difficult to find for audiences (it typically goes up just before puck drop), so keep an eye out in the comments section for a link!
