Emily Field re-signs with the Boston Pride

The Boston Pride signed its fourth restricted free agent today. The team has agreed to terms terms with 24-year-old forward Emily Field. The 2017-18 season will be Field’s third with the Pride.

“It has been awesome to be part of the Pride and the NWHL from the very beginning,” Field shared after the signing. “It’s great to see the league continuing to build. I’m really looking forward to next season with the Pride because we’re determined to bring the Isobel Cup back to Boston.”

Field is a product of Boston College’s hockey program where she scored 138 points in 149 games and served as the team’s captain in her senior year. In her first two seasons in the NWHL Field scored 13 points in 33 games including two shorthanded goals. She was one of five Pride players to score a goal on the penalty kill last season.

Playing largely as a depth forward in her first two NWHL seasons, Field could be stepping into a larger role next season with so many of the Pride’s offensive stars lost to centralization. With a big roster overhaul expected, Field’s return will prove valuable to maintaining the winning culture that the Pride have established.

Field joins Kathyrn Tomaselli, Micaela Levine and Lexi Bender as returning Pride players from this year’s team who are under contract for next season. There are five days remaining in the NWHL’s restricted free agency period.
